I wonder if you have time this evening?

Would you be interested in dinner with me ?

I’ll pick you up at 7:00 pm, if it’s ok with you.

1. Do you like to go out eating?

有次我问老美出去吃东西怎么说,他回答说一般出去吃饭,他们只说go to eat ,go out eating 或是eat out 而不会说go to dinner,go for lunch,也就是不需特地说中餐或是晚餐。 I just went out eating,而不会说I just went to dinner。

例如人家问你,“Where did you go?”

2. There is a Deli over there,do you like it?

3. What do you like to drink?

What do you like to drink。 Can I get you something to drink?。

所以如果有人问你,“Come on, have a drink with us.”

4. Are you ready to order or just a minute?

Are you ready to order or just a minute? Wait a few more minutes。 I'll beback.(好,那我等下再来。)

5. Do you want to separate check?

We want to separate check。 Do you want to separate check?或是Do you want separate checks?

What are you in the mood for?"“您想吃什么?”"mood"这里有心情、心绪的意思,这句话中"be in the mood for"是一个固定的用法,意思是“想吃什么?” Are you in mood for a movie?" Are you in the mood?"

因此,大家在出行前会问"Who's gonna drive?"“谁来开车呢?”"gonna"是典型的美语,表示即将发生的事,其实就是"going to",同样,还有"wanna"即"want to",用法很特殊。

What name shall I say?

May I have your name please?

I’m sorry. I didn’t catch your name.

Are you Mr. White. Hi I’m Kiele from ABC Company. Let me introduce a friend of mine.

I’m sorry, but may I interrupt you a few seconds?

If you don’t mind, may I say a word here?

Excuse me for interrupting you.

Just a moment please, I want to say something about the issue.

第一天到公司上班,You must be nervous.

Peter: Good Morning. May I introduce myself? My name's Peter King and I'm new here.

Anna: Pleased to meet you. I'm Anna White, the assistant to the Personnel Manager.Welcome to our company.

在formal正式场合中, 要用:Good morning/afternoon或How do you do,同时要shaking hands“握握手”来显示你的sincerity诚意。

May I introduce myself? My name's Peter King,你还可以说:Let me introduce myself. My name's Peter. 或者I'm Peter.

Peter: Could you introduce me to the Manager?

Susan: Of course. Mr. King... Mr. White, let me introduce you to Mr. Peter King, the new clerk in your department.

White: How do you do. I'm Alex White. We're going to be working together.

Peter: How do you do. I've been looking forward to meeting you, Mr. White.

Could you introduce me to .?

1、I haven't met your Managing Director yet.

2、I don't know anyone here. You'll have to introduce me.

1、Let me introduce you to our Managing Director.(请让我把您介绍给我们的总裁。);

2、I'll introduce you to our Managing Director , this is Mr. Johnson, our MD.

对了,是:Nice to meet you.(见到您很高兴。)

I've heard a lot about you. 当然用Glad to meet you. 或Pleased to meet you. 来替代Nice to meet you.

1、It was very nice to have met you.

2、It was nice meeting you.

3、Hope to see you again.

A: I think I will call the office to send someone to meet us, and escort that person to the nearest hospital without interrupting our trip.

I: If one of them forgot a camera in a restaurant, would you let the tourist bus go back?

A: No. In fact, prior to their boarding the bus and their getting off the bus, I will make an announcement to remind them that they should check their belongings.

1. Let's call the meeting to order.

2. Let's get things under way.

3. Let's get things started.

4. Shall we begin?

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I think we should begin.

Perhaps we'd better get started / down to business.

All right, I think it's about time we get started / going.

Right then, I think we should begin.

Let's begin /get going, shall we?

Shall we start?

1. Let me bring your attention to (what I see as) the main issues.

2. Let's focus on the main issues.

3. Let me tell you what I believe to be the main issues.

4. Allow me to set out the main issues for you.

bring one's attention to...

1. To address this issue, I'd like to call on...

2. To discuss this matter, I'd like to call on...

3. To shed some light on this, I'd like to call on...

4. To provide us with more detail, I'd like to call on...

1. I'm not sure what you're saying has any relevance here.

2. I'm not sure if what you're saying has anything to do with our problem.

3. I'm not sure if what you're saying really matters in this case.

4. I'm not sure if what you're saying is relevant to our problem.

Relevance 是"关联;适切",词组用法为"have relevance to..."(与… 开头语由于是 I'm not sure 而不是 I don't think,因此可避免直接对峙的场面。

1. I can't really recall; I'll have to get back to you on that.

2. I can't quite remember; I'll need to do a little checking and get back to you.

3. I can't fully remember; I'll have to check up on it.

4. I can't recall all the facts; I'll have to get back to you.

Recall 是"想起";get back to someone on something 的意思是"下次再和某人谈某事"。

1. Would anyone like to add anything to (what I've said)?

2. Would anyone care to comment?

3. Would anyone like to give their ideas on this?

4. Would anyone care to add their thoughts (to the discussion)?

What are your views on...?

What are your feelings about...?

What are your feelings on this?

What do you think about...?

What's your opinion about that?

Any reaction to that?

Has anybody any strong feelings about/ views on that?

What's the general view on/ feeling about that?

Has anybody any comments to make?

Linda: Welcome, Steve. I am in charge of Sales in the Notebook Division. My name is Linda.

Steve: A pleasure to meet you, Linda.

Linda: Vivian has told me that you've done excellent work in your current company. Why have you decided to leave your present job?

Steve: Well, I do like my current work and I get along well with my colleagues. But I think it's time for me to make a change. You see, I like work that is challenging, and I think I am ready for more challenging work.

Linda: Could you tell me what types of people you like to work with?

Linda:

Steve: To tell you the truth, I can cooperate with a wide range of people. I'm naturally an easygoing person, and I especially enjoy working with people who are responsible, friendly and helpful.

1. 请假

Would it be possible for me to take the day off this Friday?

请求休假用take the day off。 Will everything be all right?(一切都安排就绪了吗?)"。

2. 提议

I think we need to buy a new copier.

Our copying machine has broken down again.(复印机又出毛病了。)" I would suggest we buy a new copier."

Yes, of course.

对上司说"OK"或 "all right"并不恰当。 I'm sorry, but I'm busy now. Could I do it later?"

You did say next Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., didn't you?

I had a feeling he was in favor of the plan.

I have a feeling (that)...(我觉得……)",以及"...(that) he was against the plan.(他反对那个计划。)"这两句话,都是非常有用的哦!"All work and no play make Jack a dull boy."

Why don't we have some entertainments for relaxation?

If we go on a package tour ,we don't have to worry about accommodation, meals during the trip.

We can together sometimes.

I haven't seen you for a long time. You must come round for dinner sometime.

It's good seeing you. Would you like to have a cup of tea with me?

Thank you .I'd love to .(谢谢,我很乐意。)

I will have a birthday party next weekend. I was wondering if you'd like to go.

You come to have dinner with us tonight.

I'm going to give a party this weekend. Would you like to come?.

How about joining us for dinner this Friday night?(本周五晚上吃饭好吗?)

Suppose you have everything; a good job, good health, good reputation, good relationships and lot of money to spend. But still there is something missing from your life. Guess what? The LOVE. It is not something which you should ignore. Life without love is just like body without soul.

Love gives meaning to life as without love life is meaningless. Lucky is the person who gets love and keeps the flames of love burning for ever. It is not a matter of days or months. Love is for life and life is for love.

Short term love encounters are not helpful at all. Be sincere with your body and soul. Indulge in serious life long loving relationship and live a healthy, happy and joyful life.

It is easy to fell in love but difficult to keep the flames of love burning. Before indulging in serious long term love relationships be sure that the person you love is also sincere with you. A selfish person can make your life miserable. If this is the case with you then try to get rid of that person as soon as possible.

Most people do not give importance to their love life as they give importance to their professional life. In most cases, people sacrifice their love life at the cost of their profession. This is a bad choice which ruins the whole life. A sensible balance between the two is necessary in order to enjoy life in its entirety. Do not deprive yourself of the love you need.

People part their ways after living together for years and years. Though this looks strange but is the obvious result of ignoring the genuine complaints and grievances of the other. Sometimes a sincere apology, gentle touch, or a friendly kiss is enough to put your love life on track. However, when deep differences develop between the two then professional consultation is necessary. Do everything to bring back love to your life, if it is lost.

In order to make the journey of life more exciting and enjoyable, you need a loving and caring person with whom you can share your values, dreams, fantasies, joys and jokes. In difficult times of anxiety, sorrow, distress or loss of near and dear ones this person should stand firm besides you and console you in every possible manner.

Love your life and love the person who is in your life. Keep the flames of love burning to live a great, great love life.

Discuss this article with your loved one and carefully listen what he/she says. This can give you a clue of his/her inner sentiments and the depth of love for you. Also avail this opportunity to renew your love life with a new passion and commitment.
